I am proudly South African. I know wood. I love wood. And I have been associated with timber most of my life. It is in my blood and it is my specialty.

I am a German trained carpenter with international installation experience.

I believe there is no substitute for hands-on experience.

After completing my National military service in South Africa, the world beckoned –

I left for Germany to work as an apprenticed carpenter in Frankfurt (in the ‘old school’ Tischler tradition – where quality, precision and engineering are still the hallmarks of the trade).

I began work as a contractor on inner-city building renovation and decoration projects in Hamburg. This gave me the experience and industry insights that I trust and rely on – expert advice I can offer you.

Homesick after 13 years abroad, I returned home to Johannesburg where I established my own woodworking business supplying specialized timber trims and finishes to the local décor industry.

The success of this business also spawned orders for bespoke joinery and custom-made furniture for private and corporate clients.

However, the lure of the great outdoors and the natural temptation of the Garden Route proved too great to resist –

Seduced by the swaths of the ancient indigenous forests, I downscaled and moved to Knysna where I now specialize in the supply and professional installation of quality timber flooring.
